This project started so quickly, we do not have many initial photos. Alex has put in a lot of work so far and the project is well on its way. To this point, the body has been removed from the frame and sandblasted and the interior painted. The chassis was also sandblasted and painted. Alex went over the exterior. He removed dents and straightended the panels. He removed what little rust that there was and is prepping it for paint.

Alex fitted an Art Morisson Sport IFS with an AGR power rack. The IFS was welded onto the frame with a custom cross member. This new setup will allow the Cadillac to handle much better than it did in the 60′s. The brake setup was also upgraded to Wilwood disc brakes all around.

The new suspension and brake setup are definitely necessary for this project because Alex removed the big block and is planning on putting in something that makes more power. We are not quite sure the exact setup but it will definitely be fun to drive.

After between racing, Loren did a lot of filming and put together this video.

This time they were here to make a different type of video. For the 2012 Drift season, Kyle Pollard, a professional driver competing in Formula Drift, will be documenting his journey.

Kyle and Loren plan to provide post coverage for all the events that Kyle participates in, including the Drift Crown promo coming up later this month. Loren and Kyle have worked a few other videos last season. Here is a little video Loren made from an event at Pat’s Acres Racing Complex that Kyle attended.

This Datsun is being built for one of our clients in California. The LS3 was not pulled from a Corvette or any other car but was shipped from the factory. It is an E-Rod version, which is CARB legal. This one fact is the reason it was chosen for this project. The LS3 also came with catalytic converters to be fitted onto the exhaust system. These cats made it a little more challenging than a normal race exhaust system to route.

The Continental sits on a custom air suspension setup on a set of 22″ Dayton wire wheels. The Lincoln has been channeled and the exhaust runs through the frame to allow the car to sit on the ground.

A 4.6L Modular V8 from a 2003 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra sits in the engine bay on a set of custom engine mounts fabricated in-house by Alex Laventure. The stock supercharger will be replaced by a larger Kenne Bell one.

The project has been sidelined by other projects but we look forward to continuing to work on it.

Under the hood sits a Pontiac 428.

We had one of our technicians go over the 428, after an initial pull on the dyno.

After the work was completed the Catalina was put back on the dyno. The car put down 313 whp and 374 ft-lbs of torque.

Unfortunately, the video of the Catalina was lost.

We plan to take this Celica to jump it and drive it like crazy, so an ordinary roll cage would not do.

The back seats will not be put back in to make more room for the roll cage.  With the amount of tubes and the configuration, having passengers back there was not practical.

With this roll cage setup and the King Offroad Racing Shocks 10″ travel coilovers with remote reservoirs will allow us to land safely off of high jumps at the dunes.  We also plan to have a lot of fun just racing it through fields.  If local rallycross events start up again, we plan to take this out there too.

We feel confident that this cage will protect us, we just can’t wait for this project to be complete so we can test it out. Check back here for more updates.

During the week, we spent some time getting our karts ready for a weekend of racing. However, we learned late on Friday afternoon that Pat’s Acres Racing Complex would be closed. This has been the track of choice for us because of its close proximity. Rather than cancel karting for the weekend, we decided to just go to the shop.

Kyle Pollard, a Formula Drift licensed driver, does not sit around during the off-season but continues to drive as often as he can.  Pollard goes to open drift or local events to get in as much drifting as possible.  Being a responsible driver, he keeps his drifting on tracks or events and off public roads.

Open drift events are only held certain times of the year.  Pollard participates in other forms of motorsports.

Living in Oregon, indoor go kart racing is a great option, whether it is raining or dry outside.  Pollard races at Sykart in Tigard.  He is consistantly one of the faster drivers there.

On days that Oregon has nice weather, which happens randomly throughout the year, like this weekend, Pollard often goes back to PARC but this time with a shifter kart.
